Antonia Susca

Senior Researcher at CNR-ISPA in Bari, where she has been conducting research since 2000. She holds a degree in Biological Sciences, a Specialization in Clinical Biochemistry, and a PhD in the Defense and Quality of Agri-Food Products. Her scientific activity focuses on the study of the molecular biodiversity of fungi of agri-food relevance, with particular emphasis on toxigenic species. Her research interests include the phylogenetic relationships among fungal species, the development of molecular methods for their identification and detection in food matrices, genetic characterization, and the study of the variability of gene clusters involved in the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites. She is involved in national and European research projects and collaborates with universities and research institutions at both national and international levels.
